Daniel F. DeLay, CEO

Prior to founding iHealth Analytics, Dan was Senior Vice President for Analytics and Operations at VHA, Inc., America’s largest medical supplies and services group purchasing organization. There he led the design and development of a new division to produce and deliver web-based analytics to more than 1,400 acute care hospitals and 21,000 non-acute healthcare organizations. He also developed a centralized Member Sales and Support call center that successfully shifted sales activities from field-based account executives to more efficient, lower cost support center-based account executives. Before joining VHA, Dan was a healthcare consultant for 10 years, focusing on market and service line development, clinical and administrative process improvement, and supply chain management. As a partner at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), he led numerous consulting engagements for large academic medical centers and healthcare systems.

Before joining CSC, Dan practiced law in Chicago. As senior litigation associate, he successfully represented several women who had been denied coverage for treatments for advanced ovarian carcinoma. He also prepared and litigated physician and other professional non-competition agreements. In addition to his healthcare practice, Dan was regularly appointed to represent indigent clients in their appeals before the Illinois Appellate Courts, the Supreme Court of Illinois, and the United States Court of Appeals for Seventh Circuit.

Dan also served as an infantry and training officer in the U.S. Army and the National Guard.

Dan received his MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern, majoring in health services administration and finance. He holds a JD from Loyola where he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Highest Achievement in Insurance Law and was appointed by the faculty to the Chicago Trial Law Society. He received his undergraduate degree (BA) in Public Policy, with honors, from the University of Chicago.
